Beautiful!…and what timing as it is the last day of skiing here on our Mountain and we are set to pull out our kayaks. I to love to watch the Herons. Wishing you and all a Happy Sun-day Fun-Day!
I power walk at the nearby lake each day & so enjoy watching these awesome birds play with their young on a huge stone in the lake, gracefully fly over our heads, & occasionally land on the soccer field. There they run as fast as they can forward & backward for some minutes, it is as though they are either making fun of us or are also getting a bit of exercise. Back into flight they fly overhead for a time; there isn’t a sound except the rustle of their majestic wings & the wind. Ahhhhh, God given.
A lovely serene image, but if he were here, where we are on the Oregon coast, he’d be running backwards on his little stick legs! The wind’s been blowin’ a gale all night … OK, slight exaggeration, but it’s bloody windy! We’ve seen small children blown backwards along the beach. Guess they forgot the rocks for their pockets. Skinny sleek dogs do alright, but big furry ones might be blown sideways. I know they don’t like it when someone blows in their faces, but would they find this exhilarating? One can only surmise. ????
