I, too, thought of vintage brocades, velvet, and flocked fabric. How big is this, I wonder? I have been thinking about making some very small pincushions. Does anyone know if the real cotton (not imitation) wads that come in pill bottles is suitable stuffing for pin cushions, or does it dull the points?
The fabrics look like a throwback to long ago, maybe the 1920s or 30s, or 40s, the time of brocades and waistcoats … but probably aren’t. “Everything old is new again” as the song goes.

Another way to do feathers.

I thought the same thing Teri! My eyes & mind have been open to seeing quilting designs much quicker because of Lori’s gracious influence.
