Being a Southerner, I thought those were maybe lilacs ..LOL. We do have the oak leaf hydrangeas in the South, But I haven’t seen one up close in years. I will look for the hydrangea fabrics…our family loves them. The cabin/cottage in the background intrigues me, too. This is probably a lovely spot in which to enjoy nature’s offerings.
Right now she is offering us blowing drizzle at 60′ in SE GA. Irma is a spoiled brat. She needs to be put in the naughty corner til she fizzles. I hope she permits some leaves to remain on the trees to give us a gorgeous Autumn in the SE USA. Gee, Lori, your photographs always set off my imagination…fun!
Marta, You are in our thoughts and prayers. We hope you and your family are in a safe place. We have experienced hurricanes on the Northeast coast, but nothing as devastating as Harvey and Irma. Keep an eye out for the hydrangea fabric. The blues, yellows, and greens in the patterns are lovely. I thought the building in the background of today’s photo might be an old barn…Best, Margaret
Such a great photo, Lori! The popularity of the hydrangea has skyrocketed in recent years. I enjoy their beauty in my own yard. Have you seen the hydrangea fabric? So many choices, and all so beautiful!

Shasta
What a beautiful photograph. Idyllic. Love the building and mountain in the back as a backdrop to the beautiful flowers.

Lilacs, my fave!
Donna Belisle
If they “smelled”, I could almost smell them. Alas, I will just have to marvel at their beauty in petal-world.
