Here in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Can. we have a small restaurant called The Red Rooster and there’s hardly a space where you don’t see a rooster. Yours would look right at home here. Beautiful shot!

Put your little foot —- Put your little foot ——- Put your little foot right there!
This native bird is ready for the strut.

Going to save this one. I have a pattern of a rooster from Cynthia England I want to make but just not sure of all the colors. This one makes me want to dig it out and start it. Thank You for the inspiration.

We r in Maui now. Very few chickens compared to two years ago, however, those we see are magnificent??

IT is good to look in nature for color palates. The colors on this hen would make a nice quilt! (or maybe that is a rooster…LOL…I am a city girl!)

  • Adorable!!!

  • Is he your”s? My girls would swoon. Making for a not so silent Sunday.

No. Encountered on our recent trip to Hawaii! He was very spirited!

I love your Silent Sunday picture. That rooster is perfectly in control of life-as he knows it. My kitchen is full of roosters and I never tire of them. When I go to the county or state fair I visit the poultry exhibit about the first thing. Thank you for this post.

Me too! But no poultry exhibit this year–the virus??

  • Beautiful. It looks like a painting.

  • My question is was he silent this Sunday, or did he awaken you with his morning call?

  • Sandy

The ultimate question…..why did the chicken (rooster?) cross the road?
