Good Morning, Quilters!
It’s been a very busy week at the Kennedy household and I have had very little time to blog (sorry!)…details coming soon!
As you may remember, I had the great honor to film two episodes of Sewing with Nancy earlier this year. The first show aired on Wisconsin Public Television last week and the next one will air this weekend. (Check your local listings…)
OR….watch the entire show at NancyZieman.com HEREI have watched Sewing with Nancy for years and meeting Nancy was an amazing experience!
Nancy’s favorite motif from Free Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3 was The Messy Spiral Rose (page 60)
In honor of Nancy…try (the newly named) Nancy’s Rose HERE
Happy Stitching!
Lori

How sweet to honor Nancy with her favorite design! What an awesome experience to visit with her and be on the show. Great job on the show! Loved it.

Hi Lori – Sorry I missed you with sulky and this episode with Nancy. We were knee-deep in Hurricane Irma. We are safe with minimal damage. But took us three days to clean up the debris. Seeing your posts come through and now the links for webcasts helps me return to normal again. Life is better when I’m in my craft room quilting with Lori’s book wide open! God Bless, V-

We are praying for you and all those in Irmas wake!

Watched your sewing with Nancy episodes and really appreciated seeing you bring some of your “book” motifs to life! I love the modern look you bring to these motifs
And have incorporated them into a recent quilt I made. These episodes are special in a way I will remember for quite awhile since Nancy has been an icon in the industry for so long. She will be missed.

I have learned a lot of FMQ from your site. I sew and quilt for project Linus and we make many, many quilts for children and others. It is so much fun to make these quilts all special with the motifs you have taught me. But I would really like to have more videos with you quilting like I have just watched on Sewing with Nancy. Thanks

If nothing else I hope Nancy knows how many admirers she has, how much she has influenced the sewing world . how much her show has taught us , and mostly that we are all sending her prayers. Thank you for sharing the shows Lori, I bet it was a thrill to meet Nancy. Happy Sewing.

Thank you, Lori. I’m outside the US, so haven’t ever had the chance to watch Nancy’s program. I really enjoyed seeing both you and Nancy in this show!

I enjoyed both shows. I’m glad they were on Nancy’s website because although our local PBS network carries her show I couldn’t find your episodes. Nancy has been an inspiration to so many over the years. It’s so sad that she is having such serious health issues and has to retire. We will all miss her.

I look forward to watching the episodes, and the project is adorable!! You rock, my friend!

I’ve watched both shows, and Nancy’s Rose was my favorite design, too.

I’m so glad both episodes were available online because I have no access to a station that plays her show. You were great! I’m going to try those roses on my next project.

I just watched the second segment of you and Nancy on her show. I enjoyed both segments very much and learned alot. You make machine quilting look so easy. I have your book and it is fabulous. I know you were so happy to be on Nancy’s show and to spend time with her. She is such a gift to us all. God bless you both. Pam

I just read about nancy last night. she was my first on-air celebrity that enabled my obsession: sewing. I am incredulous…. and heartbroken.

I also am very sadden to read on Nancy’s blog that she has been forced to retire due to her health. She has been a huge part of my sewing experience for many years.

Oh Lori! I loved both segments, and how wonderful to meet Nancy. It was a joy to watch my two favorite sewing people on the same show. What a sweet memory you will always have, and I love that you renamed your rose in honor of her. How appropriate. She will be missed greatly.
God bless you both for your generous spirits.

I used to watch Nancy with my mom back in the 1990’s. So fun to see her still going strong! Enjoyed the episode.

Hi Lori, Really enjoyed that segment. I love Nancy and have many of her books and have followed her for years. Her biography book that she wrote is so inspiring. A lady that has faced many challenges and still keeps going.

This is one of my favorites too. I followed the link you posted and watched it that way because it is not available in my area either. Thank you for posting it. You and Nancy have been MAJOR influences for me. Thank you for your generosity, and…CONGRATULATIONS! BTY…loved your Sulky webinar too.
mindi
oops. Your Nancy’s Rose design is one of my faves.

I always tape and watch her show while sewing. I knew you were going to be a guest so was very disappointed last week to turn it on and…not find you!
This is welcome news and I will click on the link and watch as soon as I’m done writing this message. “Nancy’s Rose”~ a sweet tribute to such a legend in our own time! Thanks, Lori, for all you do to enrich our quilting selves, too!
