Beautiful rich colours. The headdress is gorgeous. When I clicked the link to read about the artist there was another portrait that has to be of the same sitter wearing similar, if not the same, clothing.

So many different painting styles and each of them showing aspects that other styles don’t, like paint thickness and light exposure and shadow depth. So many different looks and so little time to absorb them. So, thanks, Lori for this little week-end idea that shows all these aspects so well.

What a fabulous subject … so colourful, and voluptuous. Her headdress is marvellous, and beautifully rendered. With all that colour, this painting could fit into anyone’s sewing room easily. Week two after surgery …. can you tell I’m missing my sewingroom, and fondling my colourful fabrics? Thanks for the lovely image to salivate over.

I always look forward to seeing what is posted on Saturday. Thank you for your research to give us this beautiful pictures.

  • Hi Lori, Minnesota, where? Do you teach? I live in Germany, but would love to learn/up my skills by taking a class when we get back in the summer sometime on vacation. Active in our guild here but deathly afraid of FMQ, have to bite the bullet soon.

Would love to hear from you,
    Primrose

    • I know what you mean by “deathly afraid of FMQ”. I have a long arm machine and haven’t touched it in several years. I’m afraid of it.
