After working on my HQ Sweet 16 and dealing with tension issues with many different threads, I switched to the Fil-Tec Glide bobbin thread from Bobbin Central. Hooray!! Not one problem since……I piece with Mettler which was recommended for my Janome and am happy with it but, after the many recommendations for Aurifil, I will be trying that one soon.

Listing the recommended threads and the best uses for them is much appreciated. As a sewer from way back, it’s mind boggling how many different types and brands there are, so your helpful hints are definitely helpful. I’ll copy this page and the links so I remember.
Making a sample on the fabric you intend to use is good. No point in making a mistake on your project when you can check out your threads beforehand.

Thanks for the link to this on your recent “Thread Samples” post. I am printing this out as a reference for trying some new threads I will be getting.

Thank Lori, I have been an Aurifil gal for a long time. I am excited to try some of the others on the list. On another note, are you familiar with http://www.bobbinhousestudio.com/? I am thinking of making a trip to Minneapolis and am looking into to staying there. Would love to see you when I am in town
