This is a room I would love to be in! I have loved blue since I was very young. I have been told the story of how my grandfather searched through every babydoll in the store looking for one with blue booties for me! Alas, there were none, so my babydoll had pink booties! (Sadly, I don’t remember my grandfather, as he died when I was only three years old.)
I can see a series of quilts using different colors as background to the beautiful details. Putting an actual room in the background color is interesting, as is putting the background everywhere, rather than just around the edge.
Not being a fan of The Fauves, I was more interested in his fabric designs. I had never seen them before and was impressed…So sorry to read about his arthritis but incredible for him to be healed enough to work more years. Concerning the Blue Interior above, I can imagine him dashing his brushes hither thither and yon to produce this one and having a grand time doing it !! I had just come here from a fabric web site, ordering some midweight linen that is drape-able. I see it in Dufy’s window treament and on the table !! LOL.I am hoping to learn to dye linen. I also plan to experiment with quilting some of it.
