Sewing Notions, FMQHappy Monday, Quilters!

I hope you all had a Happy Easter and didn’t over-indulge on the Chocolate Bunnies!

Sewing Notions, FMQ Last week we completed The Sewing Room Series of Free Motion Quilt Tutorials with The Scissors...

It would look great on any quilt, pin cushion or wall-hanging for any Quilter or Seamstress (even a hair stylist)…

SewingNotionsQuilt.FMQ.LKennedy005I stitched a little mini quilt for my sewing room…

SewingNotionsQuilt.FMQ.LKennedy001Do YOU have any notion where you’ll stitch these motifs?

We’d LOVE to hear!

Lori

I made a little free motion sample quilt book of some of your designs. I should have used color instead of cream thread on muslin so you could see things better. But it turned out cute. For the cover of my book, I quilted the sewing machine and made my own scissors design before you posted this tut. Yours is cuter but it was fun to make. The book got pretty fat, and was hard to stitch the pages together. I think I broke 3 needles trying to make the book binding. But it was a fun gift to give a friend wanting to learn to fmq. (And made me wish I had made myself one.)

Yes I do have a notion of where I will stitch these motifs! My LQS FMQ group has a challenge due Sunday – so I need to get moving – we were each given a cutout of our signature – first name only – from one of those cutting machines and to do something with it. After seeing the scissors motif, I had decided on a small wall hanging with my name surrounded by the sewing room motifs.
Thank you so very much for the inspiration and the means to accomplish it all.

You and Lara just gave me a great idea to make a kitchen and food themed cover for my kitchen aide mixer! Thanks for all these great tutorials…..donna

  • Wow such inspiration! I am always amazed with all I see from you and your machine! Thank you.

Thank you so much for all the wonderful tutorials that you share with us. I love the sewing tools and will probably try them on a little wall hanging. You are a very generous person to share your talents so freely.

  • I sure love this grouping!!! I think my fave is the tomato pinnie!!!!!!

  • That is really amazing Lori ! They would look really awesome stitched into a sewing machine cover.

I’m always thinking Longarm – not my HSM. So I would probably like notions relating to that like templates, my curve scissors, dental pick, tweeters, large cones of thread, etc… pat

I will probably make a little one, bind it, put a little tab on the top and hang it in a prominent location for viewing.

  • I have a notion to make a sewing machine pad, put the wonderful quilted notion portion to one side of the machine so I can see it while I’m stitching and quilting.

  • Wow, YOU sure bring it all together. That is so cute.
