Nature Quilting

May 18, 2020
Good Morning, Quilters!

Today, we have a little nature quilting.

As Minnesota begrudgingly begins to warm up (weeks after most of you think of Spring), it is hard to stay inside!  The birds are chirping and the flowers are beginning to poke their tiny heads through the soil.

There are lambs bounding around in my neighbors farm.

(See more sheep doodles here)

And duck eggs waiting to hatch in our backyard!

Time for Planting and Photography

I’ve been busy planting hostas, marigolds, poppies, day lilies, astilbe, dahlias, zinnias and so much more.

When the weather is nice in Minnesota, it is compulsory to garden, hike, bike and dine outside! (I have lots of nature photos coming soon from my daily walks!)

I am filling my brain (and my camera)  with ideas for quilting motifs and quilts–and maybe a little watercolor!?

Time for Quilting

I’ve also been getting ready to launch my third book, 25 Days to Better Machine Quilting.  I want to thank all of YOU for your tremendous response! The orders keep pouring in–thank you! Thank YOU!

We will ship the books as soon as we receive them from Martingale–around June 1st.

Starting the week of June 8, we will begin a 25 week quilt-a-long.

25 Days to Better Machine Quilitng
25 Days/25 Weeks

The book is divided into 25 lessons and each lesson includes a quilting project to practice the new skill or illustrate the lesson.

Here at LKQ, we will work together on one lesson per week. I will add more photos, ideas and links each week.

Long Arm and Mid-Arm Quilters, Too!

Is 25 Days to Better Machine Quilting for Long-Armers and Mid-Arm Quilters?  YES!  As you can see from the Table of Contents, almost all of the lessons apply to all types of machine quilting.  Lesson 9-A Smooth Glide and Lesson 10-Directional Stitching   are more important for quilting on a domestic sewing machine–but the projects in those chapters are fun (and cute, cute, cute!)

Kindle Ebook

If you live outside the United States, and would like to avoid the shipping costs–try the Kindle version of 25 Days to Better Machine Quilting!
