This is sweet! Very simple and rather tranquil as a result (cute shoes) Ah… this painting reminds me of the work of a male painter/sculptor Fernando Botero, born 1932….All his figures are thus “rounded”. Meraud…where is this lady’s ball of yarn? Amusing..interesting… but not my cup of tea for my wall. I noticed that too! There aren’t too many straight lines and sharp angles in this painting except for the railing in the background. Almost everything is rounded, from the woman to the table, the feet of her chair, the teacup of course and even the stone or concrete of the street behind her has a crack that is rounded. Interesting. Then I went and looked at the links Lori provided and saw the same thing in another painting. A woman in the foreground with everything rounded and a background with straight lines and sharp angles. Perhaps this is a characteristic of all her work. I don’t particularly like this painting or the other I saw and she certainly used dismal colors, but still I can appreciate the character of her art and uniqueness of her style. Recommend looking up Fernando Botero if you have the chance.. very interesting to compare them. Comments are closed.
