Good Morning, Quilters and Art Lovers!

Let’s visit an art museum!

When is the last time you visited an art museum? Were you on vacation or in your home town?

Seamstresses in Fine Art Saturdays

I love Saturdays-for a lot of reasons–like coffee and a drive with the hubby–but also for Seamstresses in Fine Art at LKQ.  I love searching for new seamstresses every week.

Impressionists LOVED Seamstresses!

I’m often amazed by how many artists painted ladies sewing, knitting or doing other handwork.

For more than five years, I’ve added a new painted or illustrated seamstress and I continue to find more!

One reason for this-the Impressionist artists preferred to capture the small events of every day life-impressions, rather than the idealized nature scenes of the Romantic Art establishment.

Send photos to Lori@LoriKennedyQuilts and use “Seamstress Gallery” in the subject line.

Please include:

  • Your name,
  • Title of the artwork
  • Artist

How Art Helps Quilters

As you peruse the fine art collection think about color, composition and line.  Consider how the masters used these elements to create their artwork.

Ask yourself if there’s anything you can bring to your quilting.

What about YOU?

When is the last time you visited an art museum?

What is YOUR favorite art museum?

Who is YOUR favorite artist?

Who is YOUR favorite Seamstress in Fine Art?

We’d LOVE to hear!

Your Seamstress who Loves Fine Art,

Lori
