Good Morning, Quilters!
I LOVE to teach–but my travel schedule is very limited-especially this year with two weddings! So I’m excited to get a little time away next month to attend a retreat hosted by my friend, Kelly Ashton at her retreat center, The Creative Place.
AUGUST 1–MEET ME IN KANSAS????
As part of the trip, I will be offering a FREE machine quilting demonstration at BERNINA Sewing Center KC (Windmill Sewing Center) in Overland Park, Kansas! I will be quilting on both the BERNINA 770QE and the sit-down longarm, BERNINA Q20–a machine I LOVE! In addition, we will talk about thread, batting, doodling……
We are going to have a lot of fun!!! Hope to see YOU there!
Class time is 1:30-5:00 on August 1, 2018.
AUGUST 4–TRUNK SHOW
In addition, several BERNINA Ambassadors will be offering a FREE Teeny Tiny Trunk Show on Saturday, August 4, 2018. The Trunk shows will be at 9:00 and again at 1:00. See quilts and learn tips from Kelly Ashton, Kathy Delaney, Cherry Guidry and Donna Lynn Thomas.
This is a very lively group and I am sure YOU will LOVE it!
JULY 23–PAT SLOAN PODCAST
Save the Date! I will be on American Patchwork and Quilting’s Podcast–Hosted by Pat Sloan at 3:00CST on July 23 (my birthday–I’ll be 39 this year!)
I’m not sure what we will be talking about…LOL
SEPT 6-8–QUILT EXPO, WISCONSIN
I am also teaching a little closer to home at the Wisconsin Quilt Expo in September. This is my second year teaching there and I’m excited to offer a workshop this year as well as one hour lectures. Be sure to sign up in advance–all of my classes sold out last year!
ALL YEAR
And don’t forget to subscribe to American Quilter Magazine--it’s an amazing value–beautiful photos, great quilt patterns and lots of inspiring quilts, and of course, My Line…with you know who!
I recommend that you read the magazine from back to front...when you read it, you’ll understand why!
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Are YOU traveling this year?
Do YOU need a little retreat in Kansas or Wisconsin?
Have YOU ever taken a class from Kelly, Kathy, Cherry or Donna Lynn?
We’d LOVE to hear!
Your Happy Camper,
Lori

I was lucky to meet Cherry a few years ago at our small guild in Baton Rouge. I made 2 of her beautiful wreath quilts made using a member’s Accuquilt dies.

My, Lori, but you are a busy girl!! So excited for you! Sending early birthday wishes! July 23 was my parents’ wedding anniversary, too (1946).
Donna Lynn Thomas – YES!!! I took her Super Mini class in September, 1987, at A Patch of Country (quilt shop in Chadds Ford, PA), when Donna was living in Pennsylvania, and I have the UFOs to prove it! Donna also was guest speaker several times over the years at my quilt guild (Brandywine Valley Quilters, Concordville, PA). Great teacher and lovely gal.
Travel plans: Tentatively, Fargo, ND, on September 22 for the North Dakota State University/University of Delaware football game, provided that my DH Drew and I (UD alums) are able to get tickets. We should know for sure by August 25. If we go, we’ll be flying into Minneapolis on September 17 and leaving on September 25. We plan to spend a few days in the Minneapolis area before heading to Fargo for the weekend, and I would love it if our schedules coincided and I could have the opportunity to meet you!
Happy quilting,

Oh yes, and we’re taking a Panama Canal cruise in late September. My hubby has promised he’ll be retired by then … he’s been trying to retire since March! I asked if I could take my tiny travel sewing machine, but got a flat NO! Oh well, nothing to do but tour about, swim, eat, and drink, 🤗🌞😉 life us tough.

We are traveling in the fall this year, destination TBD, but that’s always fun to explore a new place, new museums and better yet new quilt shops.
I’ve never taken a class from these gals, but would love to find out more about them. Get them to come to Minnesota! American Quilter magazine is one of my favorites and I will be readin it cover to cover! Thanks Lori, have fun with your travels.
