Good Morning, Quilters!
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to give you Hugs and Kisses!
This adorable motif is perfect for any quilt you are giving as a gift–Valentine’s Day, Birthday, Christmas…Send your love with your next quilt!
Begin by drawing two parallel lines–any distance apart–from very large to teeny tiny. (In the sample below, the lines are one inch apart.
Begin stitching on the lower line. Stitch an angled-line to the top line.
Echo stitch halfway back–to the center.
Stitch an angled line (up and left) to the top drawn line.
Echo stitch this line and then stitch across the middle to the bottom drawn line.
Echo stitch the bottom of the “x”
Then stitch under the “x” to begin the next motif.
Stitch over several stitches–so you are in the middle of where your “O” will be placed.
Then echo stitch the interior of the circle.
Exit underneath the “O” and stitch along the bottom line to begin the next “X”.
LOVE!!!
Hugs and Kisses from ME to YOU!!!
Lori
PS…Does anyone know…is the X a hug and the O the kiss? How did this ever get started?

That was so interesting… thanks…

Fun tutorial Lori! I think the Xs are the kisses and the Os are the hugs…. I think this is a symbolic version of someone’s arms wrapped around you.

I do this one really well with my “mouse”.

LOL; me, too, Donna! :o)

SO cute!! Hugs and kisses back to you!! XOX!

The X is the kiss, the junction being touching lips. Circles are arms encircled.
