I’m fear I’m a beginner at both free motion quilting and machine appliqué. I’ve done some of both, but don’t feel very confident about my finished product. However, I am still working at it and know I will improve!

I have been trying Free Motion for a long time, bur still consider myself a beginner. I have a hard time getting my hands to move the hoop evenly.
I do feel I can do a much better with Machine Applique and consider myself intermediate. Would love to have an assortment like you showed to choose my colors from.

I am totally a beginner as far as free motion quilting. I’d love to learn more. As far as machine applique, I think I’m pretty good. I’ve been sewing for years. So in some things, I would consider myself advanced.

Beginner at Free Motion Quilting – tried it & like it but I’m too busy stitching up my Machine Applique designs, which I’m advanced at, using my Sulky Rayon thread. Would love to win more thread!
This is a nice blog site, Lori, glad that SulkyNews introduced us.

I am a beginner free motion quilter & also a beginner at machine applique.
Leslie Schmidt
I would have to say that I’m at the beginner stage, both as a free-motion quilter and as a machine appliqué-er. I don’t feel comfortable doing either, and until I do, I can’t consider myself an intermediate at each one.
karen Reisinger
Definitely a beginner on both counts.
Christie Stevens
I’d say I’m an intermediate FMQ and also intermediate at machine applique. Thanks for the chance to win the beautiful thread!

I’m going to say in between beginner and intermediate for FMQ, and a beginner for machine applique…I’m working on a Dear Jane quilt that I started this week to try to change some of that! Thanks for the giveaway and the motivation, I’ve been afraid to use sulky because my old machine did not like it, but I haven’t tried it with the machine I got for my birthday this month!
Jannette
I’m definitely a beginner at both… but I’m working at changing that!

I am an intermediate in the free motion quilting. Love it!! However, i am only a beginner in the machine applique. That I typically do by hand, but recent project? I did a mix and I loved the results. So I will be doing more by machine.
Tracy
I’ve not done any machine embroidery, and skill-wise, I’m pretty much a beginner FMQer, I am comfortable with a loose meandering, but beyond that, I am a chicken. I read your tutorials, though, and think ‘I *might* just be able to do that!’
Thank you so much for the chance to win!
Leisel
Definitely a beginner at free motion quilting. For machine appliqué, I’ve only done two such projects, but I’m definitely more skilled at that than I am at free motion quilting… so, I’d say I’m intermediate based on how the finished product looked, but I am painfully slow in order to get that result.
Terry Austin
I am just a beginner. Would love two learn how.
Sarah
I am most certainly a beginner in both FMQ and machine appliqué, haven’t quite been able to make the leap into actually trying them versus reading about them and looking at pictures of other people’s work.
Vicki
I’d be a beginner in free motion quilting and an intermediate in machine applique. While FMQ my brain doesn’t quite keep up with my machine!!
L H
Beginner free motion quilting. Advanced in machine applique. Love it! And that thread would be lovely to applique with!
Brenda Cornell
I would say I was an intermediate machine quilter and an intermediate machine appliquer. And, I, too, love Sulky rayon. thanks for the contest.
Sue
I am a beginner at free motion quilting, so I usually take a long time to start and a long time to complete a project. I love applique and have done several small wall quilts using fusible machine applique. I’d still consider myself a beginner, because I know nothing about other
methods. I want to thread sketch /paint on my appliques and love trying shading and embellishing.
Ooo, color rules!
Kim McKee
Intermediate for both
Pam
