I have only done quilting in classes I have taken.I purchased a quilt kit when my dad was very ill with cancer in 2009 with intentions of making the quilt in his memory. It is still sitting on the shelf, Winning these threads would be the inspiration to complete it. I would consider myself a beginner at free motion and beginner at machine appliqué which this quilt requires both techinques. Thanks for a great opportunity and chance to win a wonderful thread collection.

I would consider myself at the upper end of intermediate or the lower end of advanced with both, but I’ve never used rayon thread for either. I would love to try it out. Your work is so beautiful!
Yenni B.
I’d consider myself as a beginner in free motion quilting, as well for machine applique. Not afraid to try and still learning new techniques. Hopefully going to higher level soon (before christmas). Thank you for this great giveaway!

Hi Lori
I am an intermediate FMQ’er, although I think just at the beginning of intermediate. As for applique, I am still just a beginner. I love applique, but it seems I usually make pieced scrap quilts. LOL! as I look around my home I have many appliqued pieces!
I have an applique pattern that I had decided to do after I finish the quilt that I am FMQing at this moment.
Thanks for the great blog and the chance to win some thread..

I’m definitely a beginner in FMQ, and will probably do more on a rental long arm than on my domestic. I’m an intermediate appliquér. Is that a word? I’m doing applique this weekend for some baby blocks. The blocks are only 3 inches square, so the pictures are even smaller. What was I thinking?

I’m a beginner at both – although my beginnings at machine applique happened 40 years ago! I am now retired and have been inspired by your site for all your useful and plentiful knowledge about machine quilting. I have had my old Bernina for 35 years and it still is going strong. The only problems I’ve ever had with it were when I was using the wrong thread! Would love to try Sulky threads and go crazy with inspiration.
Sharleen
I have done free motion several times but am still a beginner. I have done machine appliqué several different ways so I am an intermediate.
Tiffanee Noack
Intermediate at both, but getting much better at free hand!!
Dorothy Matheson
I have done a bit of FMQ but am still a beginner. I have done a lot of applique and am not a beginner. I have used a lot of Sulky thread on my embroidery machine. I does work well on the machine.

I love to sew and have been sewing clothing for years. I am retired now and can really have “fun” with sewing and have just bought a new computerized sewing machine and consider my self a beginner for free motion and applique. Can’t wait to learn new techniques and how to(s)! Thanks
Cheri Barker
I would consider myself as a beginning/intermediate free motion quilter. Having never done applique, I’m definitely a newbie beginner.
Ivy Smart
I am a beginner when it comes to free motion embroidery, but I am a little more advanced when it comes to sewing machine applique. I enjoy making pillows, purses and quilts with a story to tell. I enjoy sewing with the Sulky rayon threads as they finish off the project so nicely.
Dianne Ritter
I am a beginner on both fronts. I received a Bernina 710 from my hubby at Christmas and am looking forward to some quality time with it this summer learning to improve my FMQ skills. I have a stitch regulator from my 440QE so that helps! I love Sulky thread and would be happy to win this beautiful thread rainbow! Thanks so much to you and Sulky for the opportunity!
Charlie
I am intermediate FMQ’er and Advanced machine Applique’er, love your article in the AQS Magazine, keep up the good work and thanks for the chance to win, someday I will get lucky, ha,ha

linda-kaye
I’m a beginner at both. I’ve appliqued a few small projects and haven’t experimented with different threads. I started free motion quilting a couple years ago when I participated in the 2012 FMQ challange. I just got a sit-down quilter a month ago and I’m trying different threads there too. Thanks for the opportunity. Love the slim-line case!
Norma Margerum
#1 – I am a beginner. #2 – I wish I could do free motion quilting, I would be so proud of myself it I could.

I consider myself a beginner at both applique (don’t do much of that at all!) and free motion quilting. I’ve been practicing my free motion by making lots of little mug rugs for gifts!! Thanks so much for the chance to win this beautiful thread box – and I love Sulky threads! Debby E 🙂

Well…have never FMQ..definitely want to learn..practicing on scrap things..not a quilt yet! 🙂 Have done some Machine Applique tho…better at it than at FMQ for sure. lol But I am Totally a Beginner at both…..will be long while before I would feel able to be considered Intermediate.
Louise Coleman-Bradford
This is a great opportunity! I think I am intermediate at both free motion quilting and machine applique. My favorite use of Sulky Rayon is in the original landscapes I create from my photos. I do a lot of threadplay on these pieces, and the glow of rayon thread really brings them to life.
Marcia S.
I am a beginner machine embroiderer and if going by time, I should be an intermediate machine quilter, but going by results, I am a beginner there, too. Marcia

I love working with rayon threads and much prefer them for both applique and for quilting also. Would love to win. Thank you for having this give away, no matter who wins. Someone will be very lucky.

I’m definitely a beginner in both free motion quilting and machine applique. Have used Sulky’s rayon threads on raggy quilts using embroidery instead of straight stitch across the block, and yes, my Bernina loves it, too!
Jane
I Love to Machine Applique and have had fun with it and with thread painting for many years…..have free-motioned quilted several small things on my Ellegante and am on the learning curve with my Tiara…..and have used Sulky for “crazy character” fiber-art postcards, too! I’m currently assembling/appliqueing/thread painting/quilting an original construction equipment bed quilt for my 3 yr old grandson.
