I would say I’m an intermediate in machine applique and have done free motion quilting but not on a bed sized quilt. Thank you for the sulky give away

  • I am a beginner to free motion and intermediate at applique. I do love Silly. Thank you.

  • Heather White

I am definitely a beginner at machine applique and a beginner/intermediate when it comes to machine free motion quilting. Thank you for the chance to win.

  • Barbara Young

I would call myself a beginner at both free motion quilting and machine applique. I know that using the proper materials can make the learning of new skills go much easier. Thanks for the opportunity to win this thread.

  • Tina G

I consider myself an intermediate machine quilter as well as my skills in applique are intermediate.

  • Cathy Campbell

I would consider myself as a growing in confidence beginner for long arm and for appliqué. I love trying new techniques and love. Love your posts as you inspire me to go beyond my comfort zone. Thank You!!!

  • I am at an intermediate level at both FMQ and machine applique.
Thanks for the chance to win that beautiful thread!

  • Martha Hess

I’m a beginner to free motion quilting and intermediate at machine applique. I use Sulky 40wt. Rayon to do my machine embroidery.

  • I am a beginner and am so happy to visit and subscribe to your blog. I will be spending some time for sure. Thanks…I have never used Sulky and would like to.

  • Those threads are so pretty! I’m an intermediate at FMQ and just a beginner at machine applique.

  • HeyJudee

I am a beginner at everything. I will start free motion quilting in July where I bought my machine. I have very, very, very, limited experience with appliques but I am eager to learn. I attended a Sulky demonstration and am convinced that it is superior in quality. I would make use of the contents of the winning prize, and I would love to get started using it. I love to sew! 🙂

  • Beverly

I’m a beginner at free motion quilting. More practice for me.
I love all the creative & amazing designs you can make.

  • I am an intermediate at free motion quilting, but have done no machine applique, so obviously a beginner there! Love your blog and your beautiful work! thanks for all the tutorials!

  • Helen Johnston

I still consider myself a beginner at free motion quilting even though I have practiced on six baby quilts that I donated to our local Baby Bank. I don’t suppose the babies or their mothers will be harsh critics if my stitches are not even. 🙂 have not tried free motion appliqué.

  • Nancy Barrett

I would call myself an intermediate free motion quilter but a beginner machine appliqué quilter. My goal this year is to move up to an intermediate machine appliquer. Thank you for all the fantastic tuts.

  • I am a beginner at free motion. I have checked out ebooks from the library. All the creative possibilities excite me. I am a bit between beginner and intermediate at machine appliqué. Appliqué designs on my Bernina embroidery in the hoop make me feel far above beginner the are always beautiful! Thanks for the opportunity to win some beautiful thread.

Do you consider yourself a Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced at Free Motion Quilting? –

I am just a bit better than a beginner but not intermediate in my estimation. I have only complete 1 twin bed size which turned me into a “quilt by check” type of person. However, I just finished several doll size quilts and one wall hanging “All by Myself” in large part due to your free motion tutorials. I love the way it turned out and am considering doing more free motion quilting.

Are you Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced at Machine Applique? – here I am a beginner as I have only taken one class. And while I really liked the method, I am an intermediate + hand appliquér. So here, I am definitely a beginner.

  • KathyF

I’m a begginer in both, applique & free motion. I’ve read a few tuts of yours & I’m gong to give it a try. I love your desins, plus you make it sound easy.
    Thanks KathyF

  • I am a beginner at free motion quilting and not even a beginner at machine applique because I have only ever appliqued one little thing. I just bought my first sulky thread and can’t wait to try it. I would love to have more colors.

  • Donna Phelps

I feel that I am a high beginner (maybe even an intermediate) in free motion and applique. I keep trying to get better. I have never used Sulky but would love to try.

  • Pam Gonzalez

I would say that I’m an advanced beginner in FMQ. An intermediate at machine applique. I have always liked to applique with Sulky threads…they give me few problems with breakage and quilt like a dream. Thanks for a chance.

  • Tanya Watson

I am a Beginner in both I want to try it but it terrifies me in on the applique. I love sulky thread took a class at my quilt shop and learned a lot for her. It was really fun. Thank you for a chance to win. I love to watch tutorials on quilting and applique.

  • April Simser

Hi, I am very much a beginner at free motion quilting…tend to stick to straight lines right now to complete some UFO’s. I have done some small projects with machine appliqué and love it! Thanks for the opportunity to enter this draw, what a wonderful prize!

  • Claudia W

I think I am an intermediate freemotion quilter and also an intermediate machine appliquer. I haven’t done machine applique in a long time. I really enjoy it though and want to do some soon!

  • CarolAnn H

  • Janet S
I have been sewing since a child but am a beginner at free motion quilting and have only done a little machine applique. It is so nice to have the internet to learn from all the other quilters around the world. All the tips are so useful.

  • Patch

    Lori,
I’m sort of an advanced beginner in FMQ, I can sit down and quilt without technical problems, but still need lots of inspiration for design, which I get from you, and from Pinterest. Applique? Hmmm….pre-novice, perhaps?

  • Hello Lori, I am an intermediate free motion quilter. As far as applique I don’t do very well, so I am a beginner.
Thank you for this give away:)

  • Lori M.

Hello Lori, Thank you for the giveaway. I would consider myself a Beginner at both. I am in awe of your toturials and I hope someday I can make my quilts look half as good as your photos of your quilting…..I just started applique this year….

  • Judy Jones

I consider myself a beginner+ for both free motion quilting and appliqué. Love your blog!

  • Maggie Makowsky

I am a beginner at both free motion quilting and applique. I am about to quilt my first lap sized quilt this weekend (eep!). I really want to learn to applique as well. A chance to own so many beautiful Sulky threads would be a great way to start. I used my first spool of Sulky 40 wt in making a purse last month. It was a dream to sew with, and the topstitching looks amazing. I can’t wait to try it with FMQ and applique projects. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  • Elizabeth Cook

I am almost an intermediate at free motion quilting but a beginner in machine applique. Your work is awesome !

  • Carla Hartmann

I would have to say I’m a beginner at free-motion quilting but an intermediate at applique

  • Kitty Miller

I am definately an intermediate machine quilter, and a beginner applique quilter. Up until now all my applique has been by hand, but the time factor may encourage me to use my machine for future applique quilts. I have used all types of thread for quilting, but like the sulky rayon because of the nice reflective sheen.

  • Debra Kay Neiman

I consider myself a Beginner at Free Motion Quilting, getting some practice on my little Singer. I am an Intermediate quilter at Machine Applique, and getting better all the time. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com

  • CJ Reed

Oh my, I am in kindergarten when it comes to free motion quilting. I drool daily and want to learn more, more, more. I am probably intermediate on machine applique. However, there is so much more to learn. I love Sulky ! Hope to win !

  • Ruth Camack

I am a novice at free motion but consider myself intermediate at applique. I follow you and Amy but have been chicken to try free notion so far. I, too, like sulky threads for applique, My machine luvs them and it runs thru so smoothly, Thanks for the opportunity to win this supply.

  • Eileen

I am a late beginner/early intermediate machine quilter, I have been involved in the care of a family member, so my skills are lacking at the moment. I am a beginner at machine applique. I took classes but never could grasp the perfection of machine applique — even though I kept trying.

  • Sunny Theroux

I am a beginner applique and I would like to say I am a intermediate free motion quilter. I do have some silky rayon but very limited colors that I use for embroidery.. I would love to have a much better selection.. thank you Sunny

  • Susan B

I consider myself an advanced free motion quilter, but only a beginner in machine applique. What a lovely prize!

  • I am an intermediate long arm free motion quilter and a beginner machine appliquer.

  • Lorraine W.

Well, I guess I’m heading into a more advanced level of freemotion machine quilting, but I am seriously just a beginner at machine applique. I LOVE the Sulky threads and would really like to win this so I can stop rationing the little that I do have in my 2nd hand stash.

  • Definitely a beginner at free motion as I haven’t tried it yet! I have done a very little bit of applique, but I’m certainly still a beginner at that too. I guess it’s best to learn with the best materials.

  • I am an advanced free motion quilter and consider myself an intermediate machine appliquér (just finished a Rose of Sharon quilt, quilted with silk thread McTavish style.). I use Sulky for wall hangings or on any piece that I want sheen. I also ask my FM students to use Sulky in my class as I think their work samples look better and they are happier with their results. For bed quilts, I prefer Superior King Tut on top and Bottom Line in the bobbin. I use a Bernina 830 on a frame and a Bernina 710 for piecing and sit-down free motion. I’ve also used Superior Highlights with success if you loosen the tension and slow down the machine. Aurifil is my choice for piecing and no, it is not more expensive because there are more yards on a spool. I buy it in the big $36 cones.

    • eileen

June what kind of a frame are you talking abt for the bernina and is that the old one or the new one? you can email me at foxe1972@yahoo.com – Eileen- as far as Sulky thread is concerned OH MY – what a collection you have – I would die for that – I would consider myself a beginner on the edge going to intern. on a good day lol- I would have to say Im better at applique but never thought to use sulky for that – Ive been collecting their books ever time they come with a new one for all the diff techniques and you”re right Lori that thread looks wonderful when sewn into a project
