How to Machine Quilt the Lollipop Flower

April 28, 2020
Good Morning, Quilters and Gardeners!

Today we are going to learn how to machine quilt the Lollipop Flower!

The tutorial for the Lollipop Flower–including a short video–is sponsored by BERNINA’s We All Sew blog!  Thank you, BERNINA!

By the way, while we are all social distancing-there is no better time to buy a sewing machine! Check out the sale at BERNINA.com HERE

The Whimsical Spiral Flower

This flower is one of my absolute favorite motifs!

You can vary the look by making the center spiral larger or smaller and add more interest by changing the shape of the petals.

Stitch the Lollipop Flower in a little pot, or plant it right in the ground!

Border Motif

The Lollipop flower is perfect as a border motif.

I’ve even used the pattern to decorate tea towels similar to the mushroom towels here.

(Buy tea towels HERE)

Fill a Square Block

I’ve also used the Lollipop Flower to fill a square block.

Position four flowers angling in toward the center to fill the square.

In the whole cloth quilt below, I added small flowers in between each large flower.  (Look closely, they are a little hard to see!)

My Minnesota Garden

There are more flowers in this post than in my Minnesota garden! But, the snow is finally gone and the grass has turned green!

Flowers will blooming in no time!

(Maybe a few dandelions too…)

Happy Stitching!

I can relate to that! When I found it, I went all the way back to the beginning, and have read the whole thing. There is so much helpful stuff here! She also has books, which are a great resource to keep right next to you as you are sewing–easier than sewing by looking back and forth at the computer! They are spiral bound, so they lay flat, which was genius.
