My daughters have been fighting over who gets the USA quilt – my 2014 Fourth of July Quilt.
To avoid family strife, I decided to make a second one…
So much better than “cutting the baby in half”!
MACHINE QUILTING THE USA QUILT
This is a quick and easy quilt–you can have it finished in one afternoon!
Start with a fat quarter quilt sandwich-this piece was 21 x 16 inches–anything close will work.
Draw a one inch border (leaving a good margin for trimming and binding)
Stitch the outer border using The Easy Greek Key machine quilting motif.
Add the silhouette of the USA (or YOUR country’s outline)
Double stitch around the outline.
Add horizontal lines-one inch spacing.
Stitch with a wavy line and add stars.
Perfect!
CRAFTSY: DOODLE TO DESIGN
If you purchased my second class, Doodle to Design: Creative Machine Quilting–the USA silhouette is provided in the class materials!

The class has received all 5 star reviews like this one from Quilt4Fun:–
(Thank you to Quilt4Fun and all of YOU who have taken the time to write a review–it can really make a difference!)
You’ll have this stitched so fast…
You might just want to make two right away!
….and crown thy good………

You are most welcome Miss Lori 😀 I love to read your posts and the videos! I do hope this second quilt solves the problem…but it does make me wonder…don’t your daughters share your love of quilting and quilt themselves? They have access to a most fabulous teacher 😉 My daughter didn’t have much interest in quilting…so sad for her 🙁

I’ve traced the outline of Canada… Looks like stipple! Our holiday is July 1, so I’d better get cracking… Or stitching!
