I have never been overly impressed with the Impressionist period, no pun intended, but this piece and no doubt her art work in general would wow me. She certainly did well for herself in the day when anything women did, other than the laundry, went unappreciated. How very sad that she died at such an early age, just as she had hit her stride and gained recognition that couldn’t be denied.
