The Basic Leaf Free Motion Quilting Tutorial

The Feathered Leaf:Ink Bottle Mini Quilt001Good Morning, Quilters!

Next week I am off to teach a class at The John C. Campbell Folk School and am so excited!

This week I had to choose between putting a big red X in my exercise calendar…Read more here-

Or stitching, photographing and writing a Tuesday Tutorial.

Previously, the Tuesday Tutorial would have won the battle, but those red Xs really keep me #MovingMore!

What about YOU?

Ever have an Exercise OR Quilt week?

Please forgive the inconsistent postings for the next few weeks!

In the meantime, you might stitch a few of my fall favorites:

Whoa ! WordPress made me subscribe again as if I had never been here, I don’t see the letter i wrote a few minutes ago either and all my saved ones in WordPress have disappeared… bummer… mystery.

I’m having trouble with my own email subscription! It seemed to happen when I updated my iPhone-maybe just a coincidence!

Well, I stand corrected. When I confirmed my “new” subscription, all my previous Saved articles, popped up. Yep mysterious! But wish that letter would show up, too.

Absolutely love JCCFS (the Folk School) – have attended many times as a student and will be teaching there (barns) next spring. Thank you for your many tutorials – I have learned (and continue to learn) so much!

Good for you! You’ve inspired me to get off the couch and walk.
I’ve gotten much better at getting in my 10,000 steps five days a week. But some days that’s all I get, because I’m pretty wiped out. My Fitbit says I climbed 17 floors. I don’t know how that works as I’m just walking mountain roads, but so be it. I’ve noticed I’m much stronger now. I’ve not shed a lot of pounds, but I can climb steps, and get up and down much easier! Why is it a choice of one or the other? I guess that comes with age. 🙂

Good for you Lori for taking time for yourself. Have fun over the next few weeks.

Have a delightful time; wish I were going to your class…what a beautiful setting! You should get lots of walking in just enjoying the fall foliage. Do take time for yourself!!

  • The Basic Leaf surrounded by scrolling also reminds me of the Eastern-inspired fancy pointed-dome shaped medallions featured in some fabrics. I’m helping a friend to make a wedding quilt for her daughter, and the border fabric is a large print that features these medallions. I’m thinking that the Basic Leaf would work well for the inner border – just what I’ve been looking for! Thanks!
