Good Morning, Quilters!
I have a new toy for doodling!
I have an iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil and recently found an app called Procreate. I’m just in the learning phase of this powerful tool.
One of my favorite parts of Procreate is the time-lapse video it creates.
I only wish it had a little music!
Before you hit the play button, start humming something snappy!
What about YOU?
Do YOU ever doodle electronically?
Do YOU have any favorite doodling apps?
Do YOU have any other favorite apps?
We’d LOVE to hear!
Your doodling friend,
Technolorigy

I use ArtStudio on my IPad. You can import a pic of your quilt or square and audition motifs by drawing on the pic. Can use different colors too.

I loved that! I like the replay feature. I doodle when I take notes in a meeting on Notability. But I do have Procreate. I’ll have to revisit this! You’re a delight, Lori!

I have an iPad too, but only got “media error” so couldn’t see what you were doing. I guess I’ll have to stick to paper and pencil!

Love it! Lori, you are so fun. FYI, I saw it fine on Safari but tried it to see what happened on Firefox and got the same message that others received.

I also have an Ipad Pro. I take a pic of my quilt block that I’m trying to decide how to quilt and make a PDF file of it. Then I can bring it into the screen and use my pencil with it. Its great.

Oh, please, please, don’t switch to all videos!!! One of my favorite things about you that I don’t have to watch a stupid video to get what I need, or spend a bunch of time backing up and forwarding to find the parts I want to look at longer or can’t remember!! It is so much easier to just scroll to the spot I want and have it stay there, or lay the book open flat to a page as long as I want. I love your step by step photos and written words.

Yes, the movie worked on safari
Lori, you really are techno-rrifical and wondermous!

I am a paper and pencil girl, only because I feel like I have too much.
Most of my doodling is uh, um, random.
I could not see the video, probably bc hubbs has so many barriers on my macbookpro
and that is okay. I do need to doodle more.
At present I am avoiding completing a quilt, or two bc I have to hand embroider (which is not so great either) I have seen machine sewn lettering such as yours, I really can do that.
Lori, you are always so so so so inspiring. I have very little “me time”, I am aware that this is a problem. I am working on it haha????????

Too cool!

I just got an iPad Pro, can’t wait to play! I can view the video fine on Chrome and Safari browsers, can’t get it to play on newer versions of Firefox.
Rosemaryflower
okay…. that might be my problem.
I will scoot over to Safari right now, thanks for sharing that discovery

I have this on my iPad using a different app and find it very useful, especially when teaching! Thanks for sharing.

I cannot see any video. Just a black box with an error:
“Media Error: Format not supported or source not found”.
Marsha
I have a regular Ipad, and I use the note app to doodle.

Which app is it? The one for $9.99?
Just got an ipad pro and pencil, been playing with Adobe sketch and Capture- so much to learn.
Thanks for this post

Very cool!!

I like to use a white board and markers to practice doodle designs.

This is an awesome tool that would be so helpful,
May have pushed me over the edge too????
bbquiltmaker
That does it! I’ve been on the verge of upgrading my IPad to the Pro, you pushed me over the edge.
Loreen
Can we use this app with a regular rubber-tipped pen? (As opposed to an Apple Pencil)
kathylquiltz
No

I like the idea of doodling electronically, unfortunately my iPad is only 2nd gen and would not be compatible, I doubt. The only problem I saw was that the play function is so fast that it is difficult to follow the doodling.

What fun! I prefer paper and pencil, but I do have a few apps on my Kindle. My favorite way to electrically doodle is with my Waco pad that is hooked up to my computer. I use adobe Photoshop when drawing. I have tried adobe illustrator, but it’s harder to work… At least to me.

Sigh…..I only saw “Media Error: Format not supported or source not found” and couldn’t watch video.
Vonnie
I can’t see it either 🙁
