Good Morning, Quilters and Doodlers!
First, I’d like to thank all of you who have signed up for my new (and only) Craftsy video! If you haven’t had a chance to sign up yet, the 50% off link in my sidebar will be available through Monday, August 17th!
I’m delighted that so many of you have watched many of the lessons already! Please consider leaving a review on the Craftsy platform AND as soon as you can POST A PHOTO of your work…even if you are a beginner–we want to see YOUR progress!
TABLET DOODLES FOR THE CRAFTSY LESSONS
Throughout the video, I doodle before I sew each motif. For the purposes of video instruction, I use a Wacom Cintiq Tablet throughout the class. Back at the ranch, I always doodle on paper–loose leaf, notebooks, etc.
I like the “tooth” of markers on paper.
DOODLE LESSON: CHANGE ONE THING
Today we are continuing our series, Better Quilting Through Doodling.
(Find all previous doodle lessons HERE.)
I have an EASY RECIPE for doodling today:
Change One Thing!
Start with a simple shape like a house. Then add or change one thing.Contineu adding and changing…
Keep it simple. Soon you will have a design you really like!
Try trees.
Push your imagination—one thing at a time!
Can you imagine a quilt with one of your doodles?
This tree is screaming to me to quilt:
Start with any simple shape.
Use one of the Free Motion Quilt Tutorials as a prompt…
like the Anchor from this week.
Change one thing…then keep going!
I’d love to hear how this works for YOU!Happy Doodling and Happy Quilting!
Lori
PS.. The background quilt is an example of a Diagonal Composition (see Craftsy video). It was stitched on my BERNINA 770QE with Aurifil cotton in the bobbin and Sulky rayon 40wt on top.
