Are you crazy for daisies like I am? If so, this motif is going to bloom in your quilted garden!
Daisy Crazy can be used as a single motif in the center of a block, stitched in a single row as a border, or stitched in multiple rows for a fabulous background.
DAISY CRAZY-THE MACHINE QUILTING TUTORIAL
Begin by drawing three parallel lines. Begin stitching on the centerline. Stitch a straight vertical line. With a sideways figure “8” motion, add a pair of pointed leaves.
Stitch on the centerline then add another pair of pointed leaves.
Stitch 2-3 sets of leaves.
After the last set of leaves, stitch a long line. Next, stitch a teardrop shape.
Stitch under the base of the teardrop, closely echo stitching the left side. Add a rounded petal.
Add another rounded petal on the left side of the stem, then cross over to add two more rounded petals.
Complete the fourth petal, then stitch on the teardrop to the tip of the flower. Stitch on the centerline to begin the next motif.
Or stitch back to the base of the teardrop and echo stitch the stem to begin the next motif in a row.
Don’t be a lazy daisy…
Doodle the Crazy Daisy before stitching it or else you’ll end up with an Oopsy Daisy!
