Good Morning, Quilters!

As you may have noticed, I’ve been absent from blogging and from our 25 Week Quilt-a-Long for quite awhile.

For Everything There is a Season

My brother-in-law died after several weeks in and out of the hospital.

I was his biggest fan…and he was one of my biggest cheerleaders.

Many of you have met my sister, Pat who frequently travels with me on quilting trips.  Please keep her in your prayers.

Rick

We welcomed our first grand daughter, Elizabeth,  into the world!

We now have five grandsons and one granddaughter!

Congratulations, Nora and Travis and boys!

A Time to Reap and a Time to Sew

It’s been a tremendously emotional time.

I have found solace in long walks and quiet, meditative quilting.

But I have not had the energy to focus on the steps (photography, editing and writing) necessary to create a quality blog post.

Quilt A Long, New Schedule

My original plan was to complete the quilt a long before Christmas this year…

The new plan is to pick up with Lesson 23 right away in January.

These are big lessons–pulling all of our work together–and it will be a fun and creative way to kick off 2021!

Family First

Until then, I will be spending a lot of time with my family and  will pop in here once in awhile.

May YOU Enjoy all HEALTH and Happiness,

Lori

Sisters!

Dear Lori, I am so very sorry for your loss….and I delight with you on the birth of your beautiful, amazing granddaughter. Take all the time you need. Your friends, fans and class will be here when you are ready, Hold yourself and those around you gently in great grace. This was necessary as we traverse the unfamiliar and uncertain path of pandemic but all the more so when one adds sorrow not shared with funeral and wake, joy not celebrated with friends and even sometimes, not family hugs! My heart is with you. Bless your days…your moments. Take a nap, take a walk, take a bubble bath, take a cocktail. Hugs and prayers–Jill

  • Martha O.

I’ve always believed that encouraging relatives is your most important ministry (you are in their lives permanently) while caring for yourself. Then you assist acquaintances and customers as they join the second-tier of your “family” as you are able ~ May you have peace, health, many treasured memories and special moments during this Christmas and New Year. I look forward to continuing the QAL with you in January and your insights in creativity in 2021. Blessings!

And a precious daughter is born to her expectant parents and extended family! How blessed you all are. We are expecting greatgrandson end of Jan. His mom had covid in early months but both are doing fine. Let us never take our blessings for granted. As we age and life takes its toll on us and our loved ones, we are in disbelief so many times, We say, but they were alive just now and we miss them so much. Today, many years ago, was my mom’s
due date with me…Pearl Harbor came instead. I always wondered what she and my dad experienced and the joy they assured me of when I came a week later. This strange pandemic world we are experiencing is a bummer. But even tho our loved ones leave, we were blessed to have them and we are blessed to enjoy the new ones joining us
in spite of the world’s condition. I believe our quilts are a testimony to the cycle of life..,small pieces put together to make a glorious whole that can last and bless for generations. Lori, you are a quilter and extend blessing to us all.
Thank you. The Lord knows your precious heart and is of course always with you. Prayer for sweet healing
for your whole family. His presence surround you all.

  • Dorothy Simms

Thank you for the updates. Pray all is well.

  • Cindy Wagner

So sorry for your loss. Know spending time with your family now during the holidays will be a comfort and especially having a new baby granddaughter to love. Will be thinking of you as I work on my sewing projects for Christmas and how much I have progressed due to your teaching

  • My condolences to you and your family. Life does offer a rollercoaster ride, like them or not. I pray for you to have the strength to accept His plan, for more joy is to come. Already, you have a granddaughter to keep her male cousins inline.

Thank you for sharing so much. I felt something was askew when Silent Sunday did not appear. Please take care of yourself and we will regroup in 2021.
