Good Morning, Quilters!

Just flying in with a few thread sketches….

Bugs are not my typical quilting preference, but once I started doodling, I couldn’t stop!

Check out my Pinterest Board HERE for inspiration.

Then doodle a few embellished bugs for YOUR quilt sampler.

I used 28 wt cotton thread on washed canvas to machine doodle these creepy crawlies!

Can’t wait to see what YOU create!

Happy Damselfly Doodling,

Lacewing Lori

Uh, only bugs I ever enjoyed were the roly-poly bugs I found in the dirt by the sidewalk in my childhood. I loved to
watch them curl up into a ball and then eventually unroll and try to scurry along my hand and arm. We would collect a batch of them in a jar, pour them out and watch them unfurl and try to out run (HA) our fingers to capture them again. I can see now that their body positions would present several views for FMQ ideas. The dragonflies and damselflies are my favorite in our retirement by the lake.

Lori to the rescue – just in time! Last night I finished QITD my ColourBug table-topper and I was stumped for how to quilt the bugs. You & your Pinterest Board have given me lots of inspiration! You are my Quilting Hero!!!

  • I love the bugs, so cute, think of the options……..so many bugs
