Love this painting! My three sisters and I lost our beloved mother very late in December, 2014 at the age of almost 99! Living in four different states, we were spending every one of her birthdays together for years and many fell on Mother’s Day. It was always quite a special reunion. Tomorrow is her birth date, May 12th. God truly blessed us with wonderful mothers and grandmothers. Happy Mother’s Day to you, Lori.

Well, again I suppose that I must be a bit cynical. It is a beautiful picture of a beautiful baby girl and her pretty mother. But, someone had better get some britches on that baby girl, or it will be a short brktime! And, washing bed linens back then was not an easy task!
A blessed Mother’s Day to you Lori. May God grant you peace on this 1st mother’s day without your mother.

Lovely. Thankyou for “Breakfast in Bed”.

  • Lori I have this painting!!! I love it so much. We just found out we’re going to be grandparents!!! And it’s a girl. So excited here. My family is overrun with boys haha! I have 3 of them so a girl is going to be so much fun!! I don’t know what I’d do w/o my boys though. Love em to pieces!!!
I just lost my beautiful Mom so tomorrow is going to be tough. I know you went through it too.
    Happy Mother’s Day to all!

Thank you so much for sharing these paintings. Mary Cassatt is such a treasure and her art brings such a smile to my heart and inspires me to go create something beautiful in my studio today.

Breakfast in bed is such a charming scene it depicts Mother’s Day to a tea.
