Good Morning, Quilters!
I hope you are feeling “fresh as a daisy” after the holiday weekend!
“Daisy” is old English for “days-eye” and is the Flower of the Month for April. It’s still a little early in Minnesota gardens for this cheerful flower that symbolizes childhood, innocence and purity.
I LOVE daisies and have offered several machine quilting variations including: The Daisy Chain, The Dizzy Daisy and Dots and Daisies.
(Daisy Chain page 93 and The Dizzy Daisy, page 110 are both included in my book, Free Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3. Personalized, autographed copies available HERE on Etsy. The book- without autograph is available in print and Kindle versions HERE on Amazon.)
Tomorrow, we will try another version of this fabulous flower!
He loves me…he loves me not…he loves me…
Signed,
Daisy Doodle

I had to attain the age of 85 to find out that the daisy is my birth-month flower. They just dip and bow singing “spring is here, spring is here”

They really are a happy flower!

I noticed that the first responder said she used daisies in her wedding and had to convince the florist. I had daisies in the wedding bouquets for my bridesmaids. We got married in Hawaii (all this to spite my mother!). They had to import the daisies. With all those lovely Hawaiian flowers I decide on daisies!

How lovely. They were my eldest sister’s favourite flowers. I would send her pictures of the wild ones when the field behind our house became full of their blowsy beauty. I remember my sister fondly when I see them. Thanks for the memory.

How fun!!! Love daisies! Reminds me also of this ditty:
Do you love me or do you not?
You told me once but I forgot.

Thanks Lori for including the Daisy in the book which I love. These were my wedding bouquet. I had to argue with the florist to get them used.
