  • Thank you for posting this beautiful painting by Alphonse Mucha. I read the Wikipedia article which was an excellent history of the man and his art.

Well, I have to add: My mother in law was a huge fan of Mucha for many years. She was born in 1911. She spoke of him to me after I married into the family. Mucha died a few months before she and Pop got married in Prague (Praha). She was 28 and well educated, speaking 5 languages. Pop was a Czech diplomat and took her to museums
all over Europe. However, they didn’t want to be Communists and came to the USA to stay. Mucha and his designs played a huge part in their choices of furniture, art, decor
pieces and her jewelry for their American life.

Mucha is a favorite of mine. Your featured artist each week makes me stop and read about each one. Thank you!

  • I found a panel that is a reproduction of “Die Rose” by Alphonse Mucha. It was fun to quilt.

  • This is so pretty
