A Four Day Workshop this September!

March 30, 2016

Good Morning, Quilters!

I’m really excited to tell you about a four and half day workshop I will be teaching at the  beautiful, John C. Campbell Folk School in North Carolina!

Have any of YOU been to The Folk School?  It will be my first time and I can’t wait!

The School has been around for more than 90 years and offers more than 800 classes per year–everything from quilting (of course) to storytelling, weaving, photography.  They have a beautiful e-catalog  HERE.

The class I’m offering is an “exploratory course”.  We’ll learn how to get the best possible stitch from our machines, explore battings, fabrics and threads and we’ll design a whole cloth quilt sampler.  We’ll doodle a lot, work hard –but not too hard!

The Folk School offers additional activities every day like morning walks, yoga, dancing, storytelling, music…

And of course, great food!

Space is limited to twelve participants–and you don’t have to bring your own sewing machine–the sewing room has sewing machines and tables for everyone.

If you need to “jumpstart” your free motion quilting…please consider joining me in North Carolina–Labor Day!

PS…this quilt is one of my practice quilts that I filled in…”graffiti style”.  Stitched with Sulky Rayon thread on Kona cotton on my BERNINA 770QE with gorgeous stitch and easy tension!
