Good Morning, Quilters!
Welcome to the 2021 Free Motion quilt-a-long based on my book, 25 Days to Better Machine Quilting, and featuring motifs from my books, Free Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3 and More Free Motion Machine Quilting 1-2-3. (I’m proud to report ALL of the books receive the highest, five star rating!)
Back by Popular Demand
Last year’s quilt a long was a HUGE success!
Thousands of quilters from all over the world participated!
While I’m not sure how many quilters finished all 25 weeks, I know everyone had fun and are better quilters. So let’s do it again!
If YOU were unable to finish all 25 weeks, this is your chance to get started again.
If YOU finished all 25 weeks, congratulations! There will be extra challenges for YOU!
It’s always good to review the basics of a new skill, and this is your opportunity to take your knowledge and skill to the next level.
2021 Free Motion Quilt-a-Long Format
Each week we will start with a lesson. The lesson is the theory part of the class. Topics will include everything from machine use /care and understanding materials to choosing motifs for better quilt design.
The lesson will be followed by a small project to reinforce the theory and to practice the skill of free motion quilting.
And because I think it is so important, most weeks will include a Doodle Lesson!
Learn-Doodle-Quilt
This is a very comprehensive course! And it’s ALL FREE!
Please tell your friends and quilt guilds about our quilt-a-long. Quilting is even more fun when you have a quilt buddy to share materials and ideas.

Thank you so much for offering this QAL again. I got thru about 20 weeks last year. Looking forward to playing along with you and all the others joining in. I learned a lot last year and anticipate building on that this year.

Thank you so much Lori, I joined you last year and was able to jump the “afraid to finish my quilts” hurdle….looking forward to continued growth and skills this year! Time to order some more solid fabrics to get ready for all your cute patterns!

Have really enjoyed it the past year and anxious to restart. Could you answer in one of your posts if we “repeaters” need to re-register to keep getting the class emails? Thanks.

My goals are to get out of my creative slump and to improve my quilting. I have been struggling with isolation and loneliness during the pandemic sheltering in place for medical and age reasons even though i have been vaccinated.

Lori I am so happy you are back to get me back on track and finish this course. I was one of those who slipped away and did not complete all weeks. I am so motivated to get back to work. Thanks so Much!!!!

I did not get your book until late in the year of 2020, so I am super excited that I can follow along with you with the book by my side. Reading it and back tracking through emails is not the same as keeping up with it all in real time. Thank-you for repeating this what a generous spirit you have.

I started the QAL late last year and did not finish. My goal this year is to stay on track with the lessons and complete some projects using FMQ.

I have your book. I’m signing up, but will wait to start the actual stitching until my new Q16 arrives as I want to use these lessons to get comfortable with using it. Thank you so much for providing this information to us.
